Brittany called the meeting to order.

Then, the club was treated to a special icebreaker, the State Convention Dancers.

Next, Jon T. spoke about points.  Jon began by stating the point totals are up on the website, and those having issues with their points are encouraged to speak to him.  Then, Jon wanted to remind everyone that points are due April 30.

After that, Phillip spoke about community service.  First, Phillip reiterated about the opportunity to volunteer for Adaptive Physical Education.  He stated this opportunity is very flexible and anyone is welcome to drop in at anytime during the week and volunteer.  Next, Phillip said there would be a beach clean up day on April 26, with more information to follow.  Then, Phillip mentioned an opportunity to assist during West Fest on April 26.  If interested, please contact Phillip for a West Fest point of contact.  Lastly, Phillip reminded club members that if you choose to do community service on your own, you need to fill out the community service form off the website and have it signed by the individual in charge.

Then, Tanja gave a brief wrap-up of the State Convention.

Next, Renee and Katie spoke about fundraising.  They mentioned that there are three more opportunities to earn fundraising points.  The first opportunity was announced and started at the meeting.  In honor of Earth Day, Renee and Katie have proposed a “Go Green” fundraiser.  For the next two weeks, everyone is encouraged to collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans (these should be beverage bottles and cans only).  Twenty bottles or cans will earn you one fundraising point.  Please bring in your bottles and cans on April 23, with a tally of your totals.  The last two fundraisers will be the “Kiss Goodbye” and the “Ugly Hat,” which will begin later in April.

Then, Caitlin spoke about the Blood Drive.  At this point, Caitlin and Kelly are in the early stages of forming the Blood Drive Committee.  If you are interested in participating, please contact our Blood Drive Coordinators.  In addition, more information will be forthcoming concerning the preparations meetings.

Lastly, Brittany spoke about the Teacher Appreciation Dinner.  She made a plea to members to please get more involved.  First, Brittany asked that everyone take some initiative and start soliciting donations.  If you are going to the dinner, it is your responsibility to gather at least one donation to assure your teacher procures a prize.  Secondly, Brittany encourages people to come to the Friday decorating sessions in the workroom (located in the Campus Center directly behind Drip Coffee).  This Friday, Brittany will be making the invitations from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and then from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm.  Lastly, if anyone has any circus themed decorations or tablecloths to donate, please contact Brittany.
