Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Laura called the meeting to order.

Jasmine and Molly then suggested we play the icebreaker that I will call, “Get to Know Your Neighbor.”

Next, Brittany spoke about the Teacher Appreciation Dinner, which is scheduled to take place Monday, April 28, 2008, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  For those planning to attend, you should be excited to learn Buca di Beppo will cater the food.  As a result, the focus for supporting this event will go towards the preparation meetings and donation solicitations.  A copy of a solicitation letter is available on our website, and tax identification numbers are available upon request from the establishments.  Beginning this Friday, the regular preparation sessions will begin at 3:00 pm.

Then, Mandy spoke about ICC.  There are two events upcoming, which are Club Day and West Fest.  Club Day is a time for all clubs to assemble and dispense information about their clubs to potential members. The date and time are to be announced.  West Fest is scheduled for April 26, 2008, and it is a day filled with good food and good music.  For more information concerning these events or ICC, please contact Mandy.

After that, Phillip and Kelly spoke about community service.  On March 21, 2008, there will be an opportunity to participate in a Habitat for Humanity building project.  Contact Phillip and Kelly as soon as possible, if you are interested in participating.  In addition, there will be an ongoing opportunity to assist Adaptive Physical Education on campus.  For information, please contact Phillip and Kelly.

Then, our new State Convention Coordinator, Tanja, spoke about the State Convention.  She mentioned there would be a brief meeting after next week’s meeting to discuss a cheer and nametags.  Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting (even if you are not going to the State Convention).

Last of all, Renee and Katie spoke about fundraising.  First off, Renee and Katie reminded everyone that See’s Candy orders will be available for pick up during next week’s meeting on Wednesday, March 19, 2008.  In addition, they also reiterated that Chevy’s Night is next Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Everyone is encouraged to invite as many people as they can to this event because Chevy’s will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to our club (not including alcoholic beverages).  It is one point for attending and one point for every additional three people you bring to this event.  A few notes: 1) participates must present a Chevy’s Night flyer to their waiter; 2) it is one flyer per party; 3) AGS members should keep a customer copy of all receipts in order to receive points; and 4) if additional flyers are needed, copies of the flyer can be found on our website.

John closed the meeting.
