Brittany welcomed those in attendance, and began the meeting
with the icebreaker, “Stinger.”
After that, Laura spoke briefly about the State Convention,
which will take place April 4 through 6.
She mentioned that March 5 is the deadline to register, and she plans to
talk more in depth about this event next week.
Next, Kelly and Caitlin spoke about this semester’s blood
drive, which will happen some time in April.
There will be opportunities to earn community service points for
sign-ups and assisting donors during the drive.
Kelly and Caitlin are asking fellow AGS members to brainstorm theme
ideas and to assist with posters.
Subsequently, John spoke about the First Annual Honors
Symposium to be hosted at Stanford University.
Registration to attend this event is free, and the form needs to be
submitted by March 28, 2008. The
Symposium will take place April 18, 2008, and many AGS members are already
planning to attend. For more

Finally, Saba spoke about fundraising. First, she congratulated members for their
efforts during the Candy Gram fundraiser.
We managed to raise $200. Next,
she mentioned Tuesday, February 26 and Wednesday, February 27 would be our
first bake sale of the semester. Sign-up
sheets were passed around for baking and selling baked goods. Baked goods should be dropped off at the
table in the cafeteria on Tuesday, February 26 at 9:00 am. Please speak to Saba, if you are interested
in baking or selling during this bake sale. *
* NOTE: Guidelines for the bake sale: 1) baked goods need to be home made, 2) baked
goods must be generously sized (i.e. the size of your palm), 3) baked goods
must be individually wrapped (either in individual zip lock bags or in clear
plastic wrap), 4) it is one fundraising point for every two-dozen, and one
point for every hour you sell, and 5) please include a small note identifying
your baked good.
John closed the meeting.
