Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Laura commenced this week's meeting, and introduced a guest speaker named
Wendie Weisman, the director of the Olympiad of the Arts.

Ms. Weisman addressed a community service opportunity associated with the
event.  The happening is an art competition for high school and lower
division college students.  This year the concentrations are the Visual
Arts, Photography, and Creative Writing.  The just of Ms. Weisman's
presentation was that she really needs people to help encourage others to
participate.  She specifically mentioned she needs assistance in
designing the flyer, volunteers for an advisory board, and word of mouth.
If you are interested in participating or for more information, please
contact Wendie Weisman at (408) 741-2066 or

scholarships was today.  He also reiterated that recipientss will be
announced during next week's meeting.

Subsequently, Logan congratulated the club on the success of the Second
Harvest Food Bank, with our members managing to raise 728 pounds of food.
In addition, he reminded the club that today's meeting was the cut off
for the Toy Drive.

After that, Kara restated that today was the cut off for the See's candy
fundraiser.  Besides, orders will be here next week.

Afterward, Nick wanted to praise the club on earning $393 from Chevy¢s
night.

Then, Annalisa repeated that points were due today and unfortunately,
there are no exceptions.  Besides, she wanted to let the club members
know they can check updated points this Saturday.

Next, we had the elections.  The Spring officers are as follows:  John
Fitzpatrick will be President, Brittany Straw will continue as Vice
President, Saba O. will be our Treasurer, Melissa Kieselbach will
continue as the Recording Secretary, Kara McMichen will be our Points
Secretary, Mandy S. will be our ICC Representative, and Laura Sylvan will
be our Webmaster.

Before the close of our meeting, Laura reminded our members that next
week would be our last meeting, and spoke about the AGS State
Scholarships.  The scholarships will be due soon after the beginning of
the next semester, and the reason she wanted to mention it now was that
there are recommendations needed.  Andy further mentioned that these
scholarships are competitive, and so our chapter can only send the top
scholarship applications. Find the application online (to be posted late
November) at www.ags-honor.org

Laura adjourned our meeting.
