Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, October 24, 2007

Laura welcomed everyone and began this week's meeting.  At the start, she
emphasized that lately our meetings have been really efficient, but since
we reserve the room for an hour, we should get in the habit of using the
remaining time for club business.  For example, this week Roberta spoke
about the pumpkin-carving contest and those interested in participating
could touch base with Roberta during this time.

John introduced an icebreaker called "Forced Choice."

Logan reminded the club that it's "Can Day."  He reiterated every fifteen
cans equals one community service point, and he gave people until October
25th to turn in cans for points.  Additionally, he mentioned he still has
information concerning opportunities to assist the Battered Women
Shelter, if anyone is interested in volunteering.

Roberta discussed the ICC Halloween pumpkin-carving contest.  The contest
will be held on Halloween, but there was some uncertainty about what time
participants would need to be there.  Roberta plans to obtain more
information, so please contact her if you are interested in
participating.

John and Nick mentioned a few items concerning the blood drive.  They
asked club members to sign up to donate blood and also help promote the
event by telling friends and posting flyers.  Additionally, they
indicated that every person who donates blood would receive five dollars
off the "Body" exhibit at the Tech Museum.  Later, Markis asked members
to sign up to assist during the actual event and said he has the sign up
sheets for those interested.

Kara first discussed the last bake sale.  She said we still need people
to sign up for shifts on November 14th.  Remember, this is one of the
last opportunities to earn your fundraising points, so take this
opportunity to earn some extra points.  Next, she again mentioned the
See's Candy fundraising event.  Orders are due on November 21st, and the
filled orders will be available on November 28th (the last meeting of the
semester).

Nick recurred that one Chevy¢s night is tonight and the second Chevy's
night is November 7th.  The flyers are on our website and were also
passed out at the meeting.  It is one fundraising point for the AGS
member who attends, and then it is one additional point for every four
friends or family members you recruit.  To simplify the points awarding
process, please bring all the customer copies of the receipts.
Furthermore, don¢t forget Laser Quest will be held on November 8th.

Brittany talked about the Teacher Appreciation Dinner.  Her main emphasis
was we REALLY need donations.  The donation letter is on our website.
Just print it out and start handing it out to managers at local
businesses.  Stress to potential contributors that their donation is tax
deductible.  Tina has the coupons, she just needs to have the name of the
company and then it will be the responsibility of the club member to fill
in the amount.  Please do not forget to do this last step.  This Friday,
Brittany plans to be in the workroom around 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.  Also,
Brittany is still looking for a shark committee to create a memorable
shark head.  Please contact Brittany, if interested.

Behdad reminded those going to the Regional State Convention that we will
be meeting this Saturday at 6:15 am to 6:45 am by the parking lot near
the bus stop.

Annalisa said the points are online, and mentioned that people should
start handing in all forms for points.

Kristy thanked those who have signed up for the Capri Elementary School
Fall Fest to be held this Saturday.  She mentioned that she has sent out
emails to those who have signed up and said if anyone has any questions
to please let her know.

Laura adjourned the meeting.
