Laura welcomed everyone and began the meeting.
John introduced an ice breaker called the .Scream Game..
The election for Recording Secretary was held, and Melissa A. Kieselbach
was chosen for the position.
Behdad addressed the Regional State Convention, and clarified that sign
ups ended last week. Dr. Kindon read off the list of people who have
signed up to go and reminded those who still need to pay $12.50.
Annalisa gave a points update, and thought points should be on our website
within two weeks.
Kara announced that sign ups are now underway for the next two bake sales,
which will be held on October 15th and 16th, and November 13th and 14th.
She emphasized that we really need people to bake, and restated that baked
goods need to be three inches in diameter or around the size of your hand.
Furthermore, she reiterated all baked goods need to be individually
wrapped and it is one fundraising point for every two-dozen baked goods.
Nick spoke about Laser Quest, which is another fundraising opportunity for
the club. This event is still in the planning phase, but Nick was trying
to get a head count of those who would be interested in attending. It
will cost $8.00 per game, and will take place on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or
Thursday night in November. Family and friends are encouraged to
participate.
Dr. Kindon discussed the See.s Candy fundraising event. Forms will be
available at his office beginning October 11th or at our next meeting, and
more information will be announced next week. It is one fundraising point
for the first item you sell, and each additional fundraising point will be
granted for every four items you sell.
Logan talked about community service opportunities. He stated beginning
this Friday the food drive barrels will be positioned around campus, so
please let others know. The day for club members to bring in their cans
for points is October 24th. Remember, it is one community service point
for every fifteen cans you donate.
Kristy reminded the club about the Fall Fest at Capri Elementary School.
The event is scheduled for October 27th and volunteers are still needed.
If you are interested in volunteering, please let Kristy know soon. It.s
a fun way to earn some community service points.
Brittany gave a Teacher and Staff Appreciation Dinner update. If you have
signed up to take a teacher, please confirm with Brittany. Also, she
requested that people bring in items that we can use to decorate. We need
tape, sand, and beach or ocean themed anything. In addition, Brittany was
not sure how the sound system would be, so she asked if anyone could bring
in a boom box or sound system for the event. Furthermore, a copy of the
letter asking local businesses for donations will be posted on our website

Markis discussed the Red Cross Blood Drive. This year the event will be
on October 31st. Signs ups to recruit participants have commenced. There
are opportunities on October 23rd, October 24th, and October 29th. Also,
Markis is organizing a committee to help decorate the event in a
Halloween/ Haunted House theme.
Laura reminded everyone that points are due on November 21st, which is the
meeting prior to Thanksgiving. Please start making plans to fulfill the
points requirement.
There was a brief question and answer session. A member asked if
community service points needed to be documented with the AGS form, and
Laura stated the hours can be documented on the organization.s own
stationary or the AGS form.
