II. Guest Speaker: James from ICC. James came to tell us that AGS did a
great job at the Student Services "Club Day". He noted how we had more
than 100 visitors to our table and were generating a lot of interest. He
believes we'll gain new members next semester for the efforts. Way to go!


III. Icebreaker: (John) The Name Game!

IV. Election! (Tina) Next Wednesday (October 10th) at the meeting, AGS
will be electing a new Recording Secretary. Tani Sanda is no longer able
to continue in that post and has stepped down. The position's
responsibilities are primarily take detailed notes of the weekly
meetings, noting times, dates, places, contact names and numbers, and type
them up into the Minutes. The Minutes should be emailed out to the AGS
membership each week by Friday. (The Webmaster then takes the emailed
minuets and posts them online.) To qualify to run, a member must have
completed a full semester of AGS. To nominate or be nominated - anyone can
nominate and a member can nominate themselves. Nominations occur right
before voting. Those interested and have been nominated should be ready to
give a short 1 or 2 minute speech about their qualifications for the

V. Regional State Convention (October 27th). Our State Coordinator is
Behdad Rezai. Money was due at the meeting, if you intended to go but
haven't paid, contact an Advisor asap. Behdad will help arrange carpooling
to this event. More information can be downloaded from www.ags-honor.org.
The event runs generally from 7:30 (start of registration) to 3:30 (end of
last presentation).


VI. Fundraising (Nick). Next Bake Sale is October 15 and 16. Signups will
be handed out at the next meeting. Upcoming/TBD will be two different
Chevy's nights, laser tag!, Sees Candy, and perhaps holiday grams. Plan
your fundraising points now!


VII. (Logan) Community Service opportunities include the AIDS Walk ($20
in donations = 1 community service point) in downtown San Jose (see Logan
for more info), WVC Student Health Services (contact George Mageles at

X. Announcements. Kristy Stucky is still looking for volunteers for the
Capri Elementary School Annual Fall Festival (it's for the little kids!!).
Saturday, October 27th, 3 to 9pm. Shift hours are 3-6 or 6-9 or all day.
