I. Welcome
II. Guest Speaker - Chris Cruz (Park Management). Fellow AGS member Greg
Rolin invited this speaker to present a volunteer opportunity to the club.
Mr. Cruz spoke of a potential project that AGS could be a critical
component. The project is to landscape the vacant plot of land next to
the Applied Arts and Sciences building and create a place for students to
gather, sit, study, as well as be able to learn about native plants. The
project was designed by a former WVC student while taking a class here.
The project needs help. First, it would be helpful if AGS (as a student
organization) approached Administration to let them know we want the
project to go forward. Second, the project also needs volunteer help,
both in fundraising/donation gathering as well as physical help with
installation. Please contact Chris Cruz or Greg Rolin for more

IV. Ice Breaker
V. Bake Sale Results - The club earned about $180 on our first bake sale!
VI. WVC Club Recruitment Day - Next Wednesday, October 3rd, is club
recruitment day. Contact Roberta Sun if you are interested in helping out!
We need volunteers!!
VII. Surprise Guest Speaker - Peter Novak!! Peter, a prior Officer and
member of AGS, visited us today to present our club with an award. Last
semester our club was awarded "Best Club on Campus" by the "Student
Activities and Campus Center." We were given our own plaque to mark this
accomplishment and Peter presented it to our group.
VIII. Teacher & Staff Appreciation Dinner update - the forms are posted
each week on the side wall at meetings to sign up for your choice of
guest, what food you wish to bring, volunteer help, etc. This is a really
fun event, so join in now! Dinner is Monday, November 5th at 4pm - be sure
to invite your teacher/staff guest on the sheet provided asap before your
favorite person is already selected by someone else!
IX. Regional State Convention. Sign up now! Sign up sheet was handed out
during the meeting, contact Laura asap if you want your name added. Cost -
DUE NEXT WEEK at the October 3rd meeting is a mere $12.50 and that covers
the convention cost as well as breakfast and lunch! The convention is held
this year at Los Positas Colelge in Livermore, California - less than an
hour away - on Saturday, October 27th. Registration/Breakfast is at
7:30am, Conference 8:45am - 3:30pm. Sign up - need a ride, let us know.
Have a ride to offer, let us know. Want to be the State Conference
Coordinator? Let us know (to be selected in the next few days, so get your
name to Laura asap if interested).

XI. Volunteer Opportunities:
*PowWow is this weekend! If you signed up via Tina/AGS to volunteer at
the PowWow but have not heard back from Leonore Harris (English
Department) or one of her volunteers giving you an exact time slot and
place for volunteering, contact Leonore Harris (English Department) asap!
*Kristy Stucky is looking for more volunteers for an all-day
fundraiser/fun festival event benefiting a local elementary school. 3-hour
shifts available. Festival is Saturday, October 27th. It is for the little
kids, and the event is fun! See Kristy at the
meeting for more information!
*Blood Drive is approaching quickly - October 31st. Coordinator Markis
Stitts still needs volunteers!
